Bentley has announced three entries into the world’s largest and most difficult GT endurance race. The 2017 Nürburgring 24 Hours runs this weekend in Germany. The event represents the ultimate challenge in endurance and durability for competitors and a podium finish is would rank among Bentley’s highest motorsport achievements.

Bentley Team ABT will campaign two Continental GT3s. Bentley is bringing works drivers Guy Smith, Steven Kane and Maxime Soulet in a third Continental. Vince Abril, who usually drives with Smith and Kane, is in the US for the Pirelli World Challenge.  Bentley Team ABT, which has already ran three races the Ring, has been competing in the VLN series this season including a strong performance in the qualifying race.

Joining the Works drivers are Nürburgring 24 Hours preparation has been the responsibility of a core group of Bentley Team ABT drivers: Christian Mamerow (DE), Christer Jöns (DE), Christian Menzel (DE), Chris Brück (DE), Nico Verdonck (BE) and Jordan Pepper (SA).

In addition to their factory drivers, Bentley brass will be on site for the event including Bentley’s Director of Motorsport, Brian Gush.  Gush sounded confident about his team this week, saying, “Bentley Team ABT is a very experienced team at the Nürburgring and that will prove invaluable during the 24-hour race. Add to that the product knowledge that Bentley Team M-Sport has and we have a very strong setup.

“Guy and Steven have raced on the Nordschleife for the last two years and Maxime has completed VLN races so we’re confident that, with a comprehensive brief from the other drivers, they will be well-prepared for the challenge ahead.”
