With the launch of the new Continental GT Supersports, Breitling for Bentley has unveiled a new watch for collectors with the same name: the Breitling Supersports B55.

Breitling says they were inspired by the Supersports optional titanium exhaust when they selected the material for the new watch’s case. That may be a bit of marketing speak but the light weight of titanium does helps the large, 46mm watch stay on top of your wrist.

For the first time, a Breitling for Bentley timepiece has been equipped with a quartz movement. It’s a bit of a surprise but it seems the watch’s designers wanted to utilize a rally keeping function that wasn’t available mechanically. This also gives the watch the ability to talk to your smartphone for downloading data.

In addition to hours and minutes, the watch has a 1/100th of second chronograph and “chrono rally”, “regularity rally”, “chrono race” functions. If you’ve entered your Bentley in a road rally, you can time up to 30 stages with the “chrono rally” function. If you’re on the race track, though unlikely, you can use “chrono race” to record split times for your laps.

Moving to the dial, Breitling has chosen carbon fiber for the material to frame dual LCD displays. The displays show information from the watch’s special functions and can be illuminated by pressing the watch’s crown or by tilting the wrist.

Production for the Supersports B55 is limited to 500 pieces.
