If you want to win a ton of races, then you’d better enter a ton of races! Bentley Motorsport has signed multiple new teams this year from around the world and will enter in more races than they have ever done before.  For 2016, which is the Bentley Continental GT3’s third competitive year, the car will participate in over 90 events around the globe.

The Bentley Works team (Bentley’s factory effort) returned to the Blancpain Endurance Series with two teams and six drivers, two of whom are new additions this year. The team will also campaign in the Blancpain Sprint Series, something which is required this year to gain the Manufacturers Championship.

In addition, Bentley is entered in the inaugural SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge, which comprises Bathurst 12 Hours, Spa 24 Hours and Sepang 12 Hours.

“We have effectively doubled our works team programme this year, which demonstrates Bentley’s commitment to GT racing.” – Guy Smith, Bentley Continental GT3 #7

Alongside the works team, Continental GT3s will be competing around the world in the following championships: Blancpain Endurance Series; Pirelli World Challenge; GT Asia; ADAC GT Masters and the British GT Championship.

With Bentley Team M-Sport focused on the Blancpain series, they have tasked customer team Bentley Team Abt Sportsline with entering two cars in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

“Although we are working with Bentley Team Abt Sportsline at Nürburgring 24 Hours this year, the works team and manufacturer support will be at the same high-level it has been at for the last two years. A win here is as important for the brand today as it has ever been,” said Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport.

“We’ve been very careful when selecting which teams will represent us this season,” Gush continued.  “When you look at our teams and their programmes, I’m proud to say that I think they could all win their championships and that’s exactly where Bentley belongs – at the front, at all times.”

This year’s big advantage for Bentley is that by having so many cars competing, Bentley Motorsport is able to gather a lot of data which can be used to improve the performance of the car in all the series it will compete in.  Bentley is racing this weekend at the Nürburgring in the VLN series.  The Blancpain Series kicks off next weekend at Misano, IT.
